Hi All,

I've been on Glivec 800mg since December 2005 and doing very nicely indeed.

My Ph level is now down to 0.05% (from 201%).

Do any of you out there suffer from the cold since being on Glivec? I seem

to either too cold or too hot (not very often). My skin and body temperature

are fine but inwardly and my bones always feel cold.

Hi, Jackie.

I've noticed the same thing. I always used to be too hot -- my wife

was always cold and we could never agree on room temperature, open

windows, blankets, etc. Now, either we're in sync or, amazingly,

sometimes I'm cold and she's either comfortable or too warm (and

she's very likely too young to be menopausal so I don't think it's

hot flashes). I don't know if it's the Gleevec, but there's

definitely something going on.

Warm regards.

I have never been a " wrap me up in a blanket " type of guy. But now, I am

constantly cold and cannot stand it being very hot either. I am very

temperature sensitive.

Hi and Jackie,

I have the problem with cold intolerance and off and on extreme heat. I really

believe that my thermostat is shot from the Gleevec.

Hey Jackie,

I definately suffer from that thermostat issue. I'm only 32 so not likely in

menopause but at times I feel I am. I am always in a sweater or blanket and can

never get warm, then when I go to bed I'm either frozen or sweating

uncontrolably. I can never get good rest because I'm wakened by the sweats or

overheating...ugh. It is aggrivating.

Hi, My oncologist told me that gleevec thins your blood, which in

turn can make you cold. I am also on warfarin(blood thinner) and

gleevec has been playing havoc on my blood counts, we have been

adjusting my warfarin all the time. Norvartis recommends no aspirin

or any other blood thinners unless absolutely needed. Also some foods

will also thin your blood, like brocolli and other greens.....Mona
