Rejoinder: Re: High handed treatment of NGO

Dear FORUM,

At VHS (TAI project), we have been reading with interest some of the postings

made on this forum with regard to the issue of TAI's cancellation of its grant

to SFDRT.

We are issuing this rejoinder with the sole purpose of guiding interested

members towards the actual facts of the issue.

VHS needs no introduction as an NGO with an outstanding track record. Such a

reputation has been achieved by applying consistently fair and efficient

approaches for funding and monitoring our partner

NGOs. Needless to add, the same methodologies are being adopted vis-à-vis

administering the funds received from the Gates Foundation for the TAI project.

SFDRT's grant was cancelled by VHS on grounds of poor performance, after careful

evaluation and monitoring.
