Guest guest Posted August 17, 2005 Report Share Posted August 17, 2005 HIV /AIDS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM AT GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL OF THORACIC MEDICINE (GHTM): Clinical & Leadership Training Developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), International Training & Education Center on HIV (I-TECH), and Government of Tamil Nadu To prepare Physicians to be leaders in HIV-related care, GHTM & ITECH are seeking to recruit committed individuals (15 fellows) for a one-year fellowship training program in HIV/AIDS at the GHTM, Tambaram Sanatorium, Chennai, Tamilnadu under approval of the Tamilnadu State Government G.O. (D) No: 581. GHTM, a premier regional institute of the country, serving AIDS patients not just from Tamilnadu, but also from the entire South India, is recognized by the National AIDS Control Organization as a nodal body involved in all aspects of HIV/AIDS care and support, training and research, voluntary counseling and testing, diagnosis prophylaxis and treatment of opportunistic infections and delivery of antiretroviral therapy across all sections and sub groups of patients The program aims to prepare junior to mid-level physicians to be leaders in HIV-related care and support, education, research in India. Successful applicants will have excellent experience in sub-speciality of HIV/AIDS Medicine with opportunity to perform original research in the field, and interaction with national and international faculty from GHTM, CDC, Universities of Washington, and other major institutions of India. Eligibility & Qualifications: Registered medical practitioners, age less than 40 years, who have completed or are about to complete post-graduate degree/diploma in General Medicine, Chest Diseases, Pediatrics, Skin & Venereal Diseases, Community Health and related fields with interest in HIV/AIDS Medicine preferred.
