Guest guest
I wanted just to respond based on my experience. Mine is a little different as I am covered under my husbands. Most insurances go up yearly at renewal time. I think it would be fair to expect an increase since you now have a diagnoses and they know about it. It is my understanding that as long as you have continual coverage with no more then 62 days lapse, your next insurance must cover you, but you have to see if they have a pre-existing period or not. Not all do. We are on COBRA insurance right now as I couldn't go without it since my CML and my hubby's new insurance as no pre-existing clause so that is wonderful. Every insurance is different. I would expect your rates to go up your next premium year. As long as you have the insurance right now, that is the most important thing. I think if you worked for someone and got fired, I think you should be able to have COBRA. Its VERY costly but when you need it, what can you do....... I pay $1245.00 per month for my COBRA. His benefits start in June so I will be happy then! 35 CML 5/13/05 Gleevec 800mg PCRU Wife and mother of 3 (11,8,6) ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
