Guest guest
Hi, I was dx CML last August. I have individual medical insurance that I pay out of my pocket. I have a pretty good premium for the whole year because the insurance company rated me as healthy person. Now, they have been paying for my Gleevec and blood test and doctor visits and so on. When it's time to re-rate for the next policy year, will I get a huge jump on my premium? It worries me as to receive this year's renewal notice. Even though I find a job that will offer me health insurance, I will be so afraid to drop my current carrier to join the new one. First, I may have to wait for 12 month for existing condition, Second, what if I lose my job, then I will be out of insurance coverage? Anyone knows how insurance company will do on my renewal? Thanks. Siu
Guest guest
Our cobra is for me, hubby and 3 children. For me alone it would have been $392.51 monthly. Not too bad though considering I had to have it. You'll get through it. Don't panic until the bills comes and then do whatever you have to do to keep your insurance. Make small cuts in other things if you have to. You'd be surprised how much extra you pay in things that you can cut when it comes down to it. That is what we had to do for a while. Take care and stay positive. Dont worry over this. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
Guest guest
, Thanks for responding. You are paying $1250 a month on COBRA. Is it you and your husband together? I know COBRA is very expensive. I was offered a COBRA when I got laid off few years ago. Then I purchased an individual coverage which is half of what COBRA charges. I prepare the insurer will bump up my premium. I don't know what to do when they bump it up to $1 grand a month..... Siu > > I wanted just to respond based on my experience. Mine is a little different > as I am covered under my husbands.
