Here is a letter from a recent grad. I thought I would share with list.

Dr. ,

Good afternoon Dr. , my name is Mike Raeburn and I’m a new graduate

of Palmer West. I recently spoke with Dr. Dean and he recommended that

I get in contact with you. Until recently my business plan was to take the

bull by the horns and go out on my own, but after further consideration I’m

thinking that it might be a better idea to get a little experience under my

belt first.

Basically I’m looking for a mentor, friend, business partner or anyone of

the above. As I’m sure your aware it’s a hard, hard world and any advice you

might have would be greatly appreciated. I’m going to be in Portland from

the 5th to the 12th of April and was hoping to contact as many DC’s as

possible. Business opportunity or not I respect the experience and wisdom of

all field Doc’s. Ideally I would like to find an associate ship position for

6 months to a year anywhere in Oregon, then open my own practice. However,

an opportunity for a partnership or lease opportunity in Portland could

change that mind set.

Dr. , If you know of anybody in Oregon, preferably with an ART or

sports oriented practice, who is looking to take on an associate or lease

some space to a new ambitious Doc I would sure appreciate it if you

forwarded my information to them. I’m very hard working, ethical and

motivated. I have enclosed a copy of my CV as an attachment to this e-mail.
