Hello everyone and welcome to the new members,

I started my trial on AMN107 Monday past, I don't know how it is going

to work and I know I have to let my body adjust to the new drug...but,

I have developed a real bad diarrhea.

I went through this with the Gleevec and controlled it quite well.

The problem is that I am take 3 injections of Sandostatin daily,

clorestomine 3 x daily loperamide, lomotil and demerol (not for pain

but for the binding effect).

All of this hasn't slowed it down to any visible amount.

Anyone with any other fixes please let me know.

Thanks,

Terry

Hi Tracey,

You wrote stay away from the magnesium. Why is that? I have been

taking magnesium occassionally when I get the cramps and it works

well and reading this I'm wondering if I should be avoiding it?

Diagnosed Sept 05

400mg Glivec

Thanks,

Stef

Hi Skip,

Thanks for your reply and I would appreciate your list

of side effects.

I have been started on 400 twice aday too.

I sometimes wonder if the trial organizer (Novartis)

only lists side effects that they consider most likely

to occur. I have since had 1 day, yesterday when I

felt shaky and weak for the whole day. Today seems ok,

so far.

Again thanks for the helpful tips.

Regards,

Terry
