Guest guest
Hi Amy, The difference between 11.4 and 12.1 really is way too small of a difference to be significant. You could even take two samples of the same blood draw and get those two results because the test isn't THAT perfect so try not to worry about that. I'd also say that you're a far cry from needing any type of treatment right now. Heck, those numbers are considered normal in most labs so there's no indication that you're even relapsing yet. If (and that's a BIG if), your counts do increase, there are other things you can do besides take Hydrea. Other women who were pregnant with CML had apheresis to bring their counts down and still others took Interferon but that's when their counts went quite high which you're not even close to. I know it's easy for me to say but I'll say it anyway.... try not to worry! You have lots of options to consider if and when the time comes but right now, you seem to be doing fine. I'll see what articles I can find that might be helpful but again, try not to worry. Tracey > > Hey everyone~ > News on the CML/pregnancy front is not so good. My WBCs are > increasing. Guest guest
Amy- Take a breath. Your doctors will give you the advice you need medically. We are entering uncharted territories here with people stopping Gleevec to have babies now so the doctors you have will be able to point and lead you in the right direction. I only know of 2 of you doing this right now. I know you are panicked but you need to remain healthy and positive for your little one whom can feel all your stress. The WBC are not that high yet to be terrified however I am the same way when mine has hit 5.0. You freak out a little cause you get use to them being SO low. My advice, not that I am any expert in this is, take it day by day. Don't overreact, just arm yourself with good knowledge and a good attitude. You will have a bundle of joy soon and you can get back on your gold. You have so much on your side. You both will be just fine. I have calmed down a " bit " kind of hard to be totally calm with all thats going on, but I am trying with all my might to let go and let God. Seems the baby is telling me all will be ok as I am home sick today w/ morning sickness, 16 weeks today and this is a first! Guess he needed to get my attention! Anyway, THANKS A MILLION, you all are the greatest!!!! Amy B & Baby B
Guest guest
Hello Amy I wish you all the best for you and your baby. I understand why you would be terrified I would be too. But like the other posts you have received, your blood counts are not going up that fast and they are not that high, you will be ok. Try to relax, like I tell me sister in law, a key to a happy baby is a happy mommy. You wrote " I guess he is trying to get my attention " are you hoping for a boy ;-) I am 26 years old and DX when I was 22 I got married last year, and all I think about now is being a mommy. You and give me hope that one day I might be able to have a child of my own. Hang in there and you are in my prayers every day. :-) Take care and god bless you and your little bundle of joy, that will arrive shortly. > > Thank you to everyone for your well wishes.
