Guest guest
Hi My first year was interferon and ARC injections. It was pretty rough. Put it this way. forget the entertaining stuff I use to cry because I had no strength to sweep or mop my kitchen floor. I have been on Gleevec for 6 years now. It took some time but everything is pretty much normal for me with the exception of having to sleep longer and some muscle spasms. \ I accept it as who I am now because that's the truth. I never drank alcohol a lot with the exception of holidays previously .with an aalcoholic husband I always felt like someone had to be in control and that someone was me. But the last year my life has changed drastically and I now have a few drinks almost every weekend. I don't over do it and no one should. Not even those without cml. But I drink until I feel I have had enough and cml is the last thing on my mind. I am also a sales rep (25 yrs) and have felt the affects. I had to learn too adjust my career life as well and now I am who I am and its ok with me. I think your body just needs to adjust to your medicine and your mind needs to adjust to your new life (cml) and once that happens you'll be fine. Of course it did take a while but eventually my counts became normal and I don't worry about them so much anymore. \ I thought I read that you take your gleevec with breakfast? If that's true you may want to try switching to dinner so you can sleep through the fatigue. (That's my theory) It won't be long before you're looking back on this and feeling better physically & mentally. ez Tampa Florida
