Guest guest
Hi , Sorry is not able to tolerate Gleevec as it seems but prior to Gleevec many of us didn't tolerate Interferon very well either. Then came Gleevec the miracle drug! Now who's to say that sprycel isn't going to be 's miracle drug and the miracle drug for all of us in the future for that matter. The great thing here is that there is an alternative now. Thank God! And please let us know how does on the new drug. Believe me were all anxious to hear about it. ez
Guest guest
Dear : What a bummer. I know you and must be worried about making the change to Sprycel. So I hope that you will also take time to meditate on the " good news. " Sprycel, while new is working well for lots of people and many tolerate it better than Gleevec. And you are going to see the Grand Wizard of CML who by all accounts on CML sites is a wonderful compassionate man. I know the thoughts and prayers of our whole CML community are with you both during this time. Thanks for keeping us abreast of 's on going story. Because he is scheduled for a consult with Dr. Druker soon......I would suggest that his local onc. contact Dr. Druker and ask for a plan for starting Sprycel. The preferred dose (and maybe not what is written on the drug insert) is 100mg taken all at once, one time a day (this has fewer complications and just as good of a treatment response). Many others who have had to go off of Gleevec for liver toxicity problems have done great on Sprycel.....so it may just be the 'right' drug for . Best wishes, C.
