Guest guest
Hello All My husband is on AMN 107 800mg daily. He has this cough all the time. The more he talks the more he coughs. He said it's like he always needs to clear his throat.Does anyone else have this problem? He had a little bit of a cough with gleevec but its really bad with AMN 107. Like I said yesterday he always complains of the pain in his knee. He has had cml for almost 6 years (September 18,2001)Has been on AMN 107 since last week in Febuary.Almost 6 months. His fish test around 20 some % July 31,2007 Bonemarrow harvest and fish test all negative 0.We've never heard that kind of wonderful news before. will visit University of Iowa Hospital October. His doctors said that they could run a different blood test and find the cancer. As for the next couple of months we like to enjoy the 0 news.I have given up alot in my life to be by 's side. I have never missed a doctors appointment.I still have a hard time dealing with cml. is very positive and strong. We all know thats what it takes when dealing with cancer.I enjoy this group. I think It's a great way to express your feelings and to know your not alone while battleling cml.I hope he starts to communicate with everyone as well.We have a group here called first connection. The leukemia and lymphoma society puts you in touch with people with a simular cml age ect.. We have no one in are area. We live in Davenport, Iowa the closest is in Des Moines Iowa. This cml group is wonderful. is 38 years old. Been fighting cml at the age of 32.we have a son who is 11. Soon to be 12 in December. The adoption was in May 2003. and I dated for 2 years before cancer. We married october 19,2001 . One month after being told about the cml.Its been a up and down battle but we are here kicking the cancers butt. Well I will go now hope to hear from eveyone soon. Guest guest
Kristi In case you and/ or your husband have not mentioned it to the your Oncologist and nursing staff, you should bring the cough to their attention. Nilotinib is a very new drug and the experience with its use is limited. Make sure they check it out and rule out any serious problems.
