Guest guest
I've been itching with poison ivy for the past week. Was put on prednisone for 5 days, now off. I'm still getting new breakouts which apparently can happen even 10 days after first contact; however, this is somewhat unusual unless the offensive oil from the plant is still present on clothing, etc., and I don't think that it is. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't think the gleevec plays any role in this, but who knows. I've been away this past week and will check in with my local docs today, but thought I'd get input here, too. Anyone have a case of poison ivy while on or off gleevec? And what treatment did you get? Thanks for any suggestions. peace, Kathy dx 5/
Guest guest
Craig, I was the opposite, I would break out horribly, and it would spread all over. I haven't heard of any allergy shot for it. But I can tell you what I do now, and I never get it anymore, even when I pull it out of my flower beds. I talk to it aloud. I tell it how pretty it is, but I can't have it in my flower bed, because my Dad is so allergic to it. I tell it I am sorry, but I am going to have to pull it out. I ask it not to break me out. And it doesn't. I know this sounds very crazy, but it's based on the Spiritual concept, that we are all Brothers and Sisters. It's worked for me for nigh on to 17 years. Another thing you can do is make sure your immune system is strong. Drink lots of water to keep your system flushed. Blessings, Joy [ ] poison ivy Does anyone here know of a way to keep from getting this stuff, otherthan stay away from it. When I was younger I could just about eat thestuff and never have a breakout and now if I look at it I end up withmore bumps than I have pores.
