I am simply accepting this as a side-effect of the Gleevec. I do find that brief (1/2 hour or so) power naps in the afternoon are very helpful, whenever I can fit them in. My blood counts are normal and my hemoglobin is between 13 and 14. However, I feel more tired now than when I was first diagnosed and my hemoglobin was at 8. I think it is just a side effect I must live with. My hemoglobin does fluctuate between 9-12. The fatigue is definitely worse at 9 in which I take Procrit injections for a couple weeks. Very oftne, I just don't have the energy to do things, like talking, typing email, cooking, shopping and excercise. I just sit or lay on the coach. I don't like the tiring feeling. My life go much slower pace than it used to be. I also sleep more. I will get as much things done in the morning when my energy is seems to be highest (sometimes not though). I work in the afternoon. I'll get bursts of energy (often when I'm trying to get some rest) and have to take advantage of those to do house cleaning and other such chores. Guest guest Posted July 3, 2007 Report Share Posted July 3, 2007 Hi, I take my 400 Mg dose at dinner. I sometimes feel drowsy/tired about 20 minutes after I eat. I find that when I wake up - I have my most energy (duh?). I play basketball two mornings a week and I don't feel that there is any carry over. At the same time if I sit down in front of the TV during the day - I feel the urge to dose off. Sometimes I do and it helps recharge the battery. Luckily, I get to sleep for 9-10 hours.
