You sure have had a bad streak of luck ( PLEASE do as the docs told ya and BED REST !!!!!!!! Spinal Meningitis is nothing to mess with ( A spinal headache is Terrible !!!!!!!! Everytime I have to have a spinal tap, I end up with a spinal headache ( Please stay in BED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! {{{ Healing Hugs }}} Helen Well guys, guess my bad luck is back. You remember that lovely epidural Itold you about? Ha! I got this headache that kept getting worse and worse,and then I got a high fever. I paged my doctor (with no response) so Icalled the rehabilitation hospital where he works, and they said for me togo to the ER. I just got home, and I'm too tired to count how many hours Iwas there. They gave me a shot of morphine, and told me they thought I hadmeningitis. !!!!!!!!!!!!!! freaked me out! Turns out, I am leakingcerebral spinal fluid. The needle yesterday went too deeply, and puncturedsomething or other, and now I have a "spinal headache". They still have noidea why my white blood cell count is really high, or the fact that I had ahigh fever, but they told me to rest. Bed rest for the next week, UGH. Iactually have my docs HOME phone number now...you read that right...HOMEphone number to call him if I do develop signs of meningitis. Serves himright for not answering!
