Guest guest
Zavie, I know you just only forwarded this but this seems to simplistic. To their credit, I know of one type of T-cell leukemia that is caused by the HTLV I/II virus but that one is rather rare and have never heard of any other link of viral infection to development of any other type of leukemia. I guess it could not hurt to check it out. I would urge everyone to be skeptical as this could be just another of those times that the only person who benefits is the " cure provider " and that benefit is monetary. Guest guest
I have a simple question and that's why would any doctor or medical establishment reject the idea that leukemia was caused by a virus if there was any proof that it was a valid theory? Do you see doctors rejecting the idea that AIDS is caused by a virus (the HIV virus). Do you see any doctors rejecting the idea that cervical cancer is caused by a virus (the HPV virus)? I don't see doctors rejecting the idea that a variety of viruses are responsible for a myriad of diseases so why would leukemia be any different? What would their motivation be for keeping the cause of leukemia a secret? Hypothetically speaking, even if leukemia was caused by a virus, there's nothing to say that the virus can be cured, either naturally or otherwise. There's no shortage of examples out there of viruses that are not curable. I caution anyone who thinks they can be cured solely using natural (unregulated and unproven) treatments. If such treatments were effective, drug companies would patent them, produce them and charge a fortune for them. Until that happens, I'll put my money on the proven treatments that were thoroughly researched. Guest guest
Yeah I would kind of think if it was a virus that causes our disease it would have been found out by now and actual medical publications would have made it known to doctors?? Guest guest
Amen to that Tracey!! My ex-wife thought natural things as well as her so-called Wiccan treatments could " cure " me. Then she freaked out when it did not happen, and left me lol. The bottom line is at this point there is not a cure for CML, at least to the best of my knowledge. We are at least lucky enough to have medications that keep us alive until a cure can be found someday in the future. So please people stick to what your Doctors have you on if it is working and do not go out looking for a cure on your own. The medications out there now have extended our life spans long enough that many of us will live a normal life span, and with medical tech getting better every year who knows when they may find a cure. Guest guest
The main known causes of cml are : * irradiation (direct or contamination by radio elements) * exposure to some chemicals like benzene There is plenty of evidence of the link of radiation since the followup of leukemias after Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Same thing for benzene with animal and epidemiological studies. That certainly doesn't mean there isn't other causes (it is probably linked with age), but it pretty much kills the idea that a virus would be The cause of cml. I am not aware of any evidence of a virus linked to cml, if you know some please let us know. Marcos. Guest guest
When I first was told I had CML in 1978, it was explained to me that it was found mostly in people who had exposure to Radiation/RF Fields, that is why CML was called a rare leukemia. AS the years have progressed RF and Radiation is being used more and more. Now they could not prove this nor did my military release say my exposure was the cause. It is not likely they ever will. Much to much money on the line. What I do know even small radiation will cause and internal burn, you do not know it but it does Xray Tech hide behind lead screens for that reason. This will be debated for years and years until power lines are underground, cell phone work on some other level, high powered radion stations on another level. etc. etc.. People have lots of RF in their home, microwaves, cell phones, even fire and smoke alarms, check inside they how to despose them. But as I said this has not been proven.. but a school in Ontario was moved due to high rates of leukemia they felt it was under a very high power line. Guest guest
Hi Skip, You have 2 kinds of radiation exposure : - direct : you just get exposed to xrays, gamma rays, etc - indirect : you get radioelements in you body (ingesting, breathing, wounds) from contamination. If they are heavy metals some will stay in the body (bones, organs, ...) and keep blinking for the rest of your live. Contamination by radioelements is more common than most people think, most Europeans got they dose of cesium and other nasty things after Chernobyl, mostly in vegetables and milk. Some places have natural radon seeping in houses. I have been a tank platoon leader and we had plenty of du around. These are low emitters, so you don't get burn by touching the metal itself, but when used it makes dust that you can breathe. Marcos.
