Guest guest
I have been approved on the first try for benefits. I applied in March and was approved right away. I didn't get the first check until the 5 month waiting period was over but no the less I knew I was approved. I could no longer work with the side effects of Gleevec and was in the hospital numerous amounts of time. You need to have lots of documentation of the symptoms that prevent you from working from your doctors and make sure that your doctors understand it because they are the ones completing a lot of the paperwork that makes the decision. 35 CML 5/13/05 Gleevec 800mg until Sept 07 Sprycel 100mg currently Wife and mother of 3 (11,8,6) ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Guest guest
Don, and any others trying for SS, It took me forever to get SS but I finally did, and just got approved for premium part D for drug coverage. What helped me allot was that I was receiving disability payments from Aetna because of my former job's benefits and they did not want to pay me the full amount until 2031 as they were contracted to, so they paid a company called Allsup to help me get SS. I have to say Allsup was a very kind and good company to me and I would recommend anyone trying for SS to contact them. I am sure they will want part of the retro pay you will receive if you get approved, but I am sure they can get you approved. The problem I had is during the normal phases of approval the desk jockeys that decide to approve or disapprove you saw remission and assumed I was fine to work. They never took the time to see that even though I am in remission the medication I take to stay in remission causes side effects that cause it really impossible for me to work. I was approved on my second or third appeal. I will be re-evaled in a year but unfortunately I doubt I will ever be able to work again, so I am not concerned about that. You can get SS, but depending on who looks at your app will depend on how fast you will get it. Congrats on those that got it right away.
