Guest guest Posted June 28, 2007 Report Share Posted June 28, 2007 Hi all--- just called me and has his Sprycel in-hand! He is starting today, 140mg/day. Actually, was downing his first pill right when he hung up with me. His liver counts have returned to " normal " from being off the Gleevec, and now we start this new journey. We still have our appt at the end of the month with Dr. Druker, so hopefully July proves to be a good month - starting Sprycel and getting to meet with Dr. Druker! His onc will also be monitoring him weekly for the first month or so. Actually, today is Thursday, she is checking his counts, etc. come again Monday! Funny, because he has been off Gleevec (no meds at all), for almost a month now, and for a brief period of time, I had my " old husband " back. He felt awesome the whole time, his WBC stayed at around 4500 the whole time, no fatigue, no headaches, tons of energy, and didnt have to gourge himself at meal time, since he wasnt taking Gleevec!! He spent the last couple weeks cleaning the backyard, his garage, working on his 53 Chevy....all in preparation for possible Sprycel side affects that may knock him down for the first little while. But, we both know, that I can never have my " old husband " back..he has CML and without these drugs, my " old husband " would not be around for very long. So, we welcome Sprycel into our lives now, and I now have my " new and imrpoved " husband...sometimes a little less energy, sometimes a little more " achy " , but a whole lot more appreciative of life in general, and the blessings we can now see clearly...these drugs being a couple of those blessings. So--I will be posting Spyrcel updates from time to time...thanks to all who have already given us lots of Sprycel heads-ups...
