commentary..I like this part and agree with it:

" a scathing commentary on the EBM movement in the International

Journal of Evidence-Based Healthcare by Dave Holmes, a professor of

nursing at the University of Ottawa. He and his colleagues argue that

EBM is " outrageously exclusionary " and even " microfascism " in the way

it sifts knowledge. Though harsh, he makes a point: By anointing only

a small sliver of research as best evidence and discarding or

devaluing physician judgment and more than 90 percent of the medical

literature, patients are forced into a one-size-fits-all straitjacket. "

heh heh AMEN.

The reality is that EBM will never work because it is an attempt to

fix our health care system while maintaining the current

paradigm...won't work because our healthcare system is fatally flawed

by design. The paradigm is fatally flawed....it has many flaws but

three glaring flaws are :

1- the employer or government supplies/pays the " policy " (this silly

and illogical system is the result of socialistic wages freezes during

the New Deal over 60 years ago).

2- system assumes that diseases of civilization (nearly 100%

prventable/avoidable)are " random " and " unavoidable " and there are many

laws in place forcing the insurers to take on high-risk population

beacause of this false premise.

3- sees healthcare as an interchangeable " commodity " (like pork

bellies) rather than the human art (based on philosophy and validated

by science) that it truly is.
