Guest guest
, Go to http://listserv.nodak.edu/archives/down-syn.html You can read the archives without having to join the list. I also belong to this list in the form of a Usenet Newsgroup, but only some of the posts show up so I just go to the archives. Beth
Guest guest
Hi Beth , Thanks for the DS Website info . I'm suprised , I've never ran into this site . Since, I've found more info with the Autism sites which has helped me understand my son . I will check this site out , since it does involve alot of DS . Boy ! Just thought I let you know that the information you sent , had described something that I kept telling everyone that there should be something that will let us know if our child has urinated in the toilet . Sometimes if I walked out for a quick run to do something or try to see if he will do something by having some privacy . I would not know if he did anything in the toilet , it was hard to tell . I was surprised to see an answer for that . It was , place a small dry piece of toilet paper right above the water line inside the toilet . That was a neat idea . An update on his 10th day . Yesterday evening , I had decided for to wear a pull-up , reason behind that was he had the runs , yuck . No telling what eat ate at school . I just tossed the underwear away . Boy ! Did give me a smile when he realized I allowed him to wear a pull-up . Well he slept peacefully last night . Woke up early in a very good mood . After I had changed him this morning I had him wear an underwear with no fuss . So far ok . Has been cooperating nicely with the routine , no luck in the toilet . Maybe I'll just concentrate with day time control , and worry about the night control later . One way another , I'll have him scheduled trained . Then I guess the rest will follow . Not giving up totally , YET . Ok , g2g , timer just buzzed . Thank you , soooo very much ! Take care . Guest guest
I was told that mucous in the stools forms when the bowels coat themselves when they become inflamed from an allergic reaction to food. I know that's one of the first things I'll see if I eat something I shouldn't. Date: Thu, 06 Dec 2001 13:36:20 -0000 From: " henhao_us " <henhao_us@...> Subject: mucuous in stools? What does it mean when you have mucuous in your stools? Guest guest
I think this is excellent advice. I have three small children and I think I will start involving them more, so they will feel less frightened. Guest guest
Very well stated " K " .... My 3 young kids have been involved in everything. They all respond and understand at their own level. I have found that including them gives them some control. And lets face it, even us as adults when not sure or question, we always have a way of resorting to the worst. Include them, be honest. I think they appreciate it. I hadn't wanted to add the Xtra pressure to either of them with her mid-terms and his basic training. Parents of young children, please involve them as much as possible in your health. I will never forget my 3-year old son climbing up in the bed with me when I had Pneumonia and had been told that I wouldn't make it. He said 'nobody do it like Mommy do it' when I asked him how he was~~he and his sister remember that and other things that you don't think they will remember as such early ages~~they are more resilient than we ever give them credit . . . and believe me. . .they DO need to be a part of everything. They process a lot more mentally than we give them credit for at very early ages. Take care. . .ALL are in my prayers. " K " " I AIN'T FINISHED YET " !!!
