Guest guest
I read that both Tom Snyder and Bill Walsh had CLL, from several different reports. We get charity care from the local cancer center or I don't know what we would be doing for him otherwise. Guest guest
It seems within the past several months public figures have been dying from Leukemia. What I don't understand is why this happens with the onset of Gleevec and Sprycel. We all know (God rest their souls) that the funding was there to get the best of treatments. I don't post often but I read every post. This issue has me baffled. Thanks for any input. Pam mtmaynor@... wrote: I read that both Tom Snyder and Bill Walsh had CLL, from several different reports. Guest guest
Hi Pam, The public figures that have died recently from leukemia, all died from CLL (chronic lymphocytic leukemia). This type of leukemia is very different than CML and requires different treatments. Gleevec, Sprycel or any of the other drugs that we are so fortunate to have, will do nothing for someone who has CLL. Guest guest
Thanks Tracey I didn't hear what type so that's where the confusion was. So we're the lucky ones if we have to have it!! Guest guest
That is the reason why CML is often referred to as the good leukemia cancer to have (as awful as that sounds at first!)
