Guest guest
Dear Everyone: I am Morie A. Sietelereales from the Philippines. I registered with the just recently. I was diagnosed in 2004 and has been into glivec since April 2005. I am a beneficiary of the Glivec International Patients' Assistance Program of The Max Foundation because I am not financially capable of buying the medicines. My country is a poor country and our government cannot financially help us except for the services of the doctors in and facilities of the Philippine General Hospital. There are also many CML patients here. Sadly, we have co-patients who are younger than 10 years old. We also have two co patients who have been sick of CML for 15 and 10 years and still alive. We suffer the same side effects as yours - edema, diarrhea, muscle pains. And as we belong to the brown race, one of the side effects is our skin became whiter. I am mistaken for a Chinese, a Japanese or someone who has lived abroad for a longer time. CML patients and caregivers here have formed an association whose objectives include helping each other through the efforts of our Max Station. We aim to get trials for medicines other than glivec for those who are in progression. Can somebody assist me in getting the list of foods, fruits, vegetables, etc that have reactions to glivec so I can publish in our monthly newsletter. I read that a pharmacist has provided you with this. Thank you so much. Glad to be part of this organization. And may the Almighty bless us all. Yours truly, (ms) Morie --------------------------------- Got a little couch potato? Check out fun summer activities for kids.
