Guest guest
Greetings!! My name is Terry and I was a member of this group in the past and now that my life has gotten more order in it I have decided to return. For those new or do not remember me I will give you some info. I am 40 years old and was dx'ed in April of 04, have been on 400mg's of gleevec since and been in remission since as well. Aside from many of the side effects I am doing well, I finally have the ride combo on pain meds and other meds to manage the side effects. Unfortuantely I am unable to work. I have been finally approved for SS disabilty but my former employer Bank of America decided to cut me off their retiree insurance because I had not worked there for 10 years. I was a former credit card fraud investigator. Recent events in my life have been mixed but over all very good. I got rid of a girlfriend that was using me for money, and found a lovely woman and got married June 15th of this year. It was on her birthday so it will be easy for me not to forget our anniversary..lol. The bad thing was on our way home we were in a car accident(T-boned by a ford explorer) We both have neck and back injuries as well as I have a bad left shoulder. But we are being treated for that. Also the social worker from my Onco's office is helping me get my Gleevec free so I will not have to pay almost 3 grand a month for it since I lost my RX coverage. So things are looking up a bit even with the bad stuff that has happened. I rejoined because I missed many in the group especially my big sis K, as well as , and also I wanted to be as much help as I can to anyone new to our little disease. So I am back folks. I have a dark sense of humor so be warned..rotfl. Terry

Guest guest
Hello, Greetings to all of you people, I join this group even though i am not the one suffering with this illness, it is my grandson...Just for the reason having someone to taLK to. He is suffering from leukemia as well, and its almost 1 and half years now he is on treatment, Right now at this moment he is on his way home because the Doctors have advised us that its useless to have him a BMT, actually he is ALL leukemia (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) Very difficult folks to accept but we just trust in the Lord for all this things,,Strengthen us in your prayers.. Guest guest
Glad to hear all went well and welcome back. Anita [ ] I'm Back Hi Friends, Well, I'm back from my pacemaker change out and am really charged up. The doc gave me enough Versed to kill a horse and I didn't feel a thing, not even when my IV was jerked out by a nurse who tripped over it. The doc was an hour late getting started (can't figure out how you could be an hour late on a 10:00 AM scheduled start--how late was he for a 3:00 PM start). I have a different brand, I'm now sporting a St. Jude Medical pacemaker-defibrill ator, the old one was made by Medtronics. Anyway, I'm glad to be back but a little anxious right now---PAT WENT SHOPPING! Bob , Granger, Indiana
Guest guest
Welcome Back, Bob. Great news except for the doc's tardiness. To have to wait an extra hour when you're already tense beyond measure is cruel, I think. I once sat at my mother's hospital bedside when her scheduled life-threatening surgery was delayed hour after hour by a late doctor. It jusdt isn't right. So glad you got your versed and perhaps a better pacemaker. Did you have to skip your starring role as the " teacher " of med students, too? Hope not. Be well. All the best the " Other Hoosier " [ ] I'm Back Hi Friends, Well, I'm back from my pacemaker change out and am really charged up. Guest guest
Dear , Didn't miss my teachin' responsibilities. Gonna meet the kids on Momday afternoon. The original plan was for me to do a meet and greet on both CML and Kidney Cancer, but my Oncologist told me yesterday that the meeting would be about CML only. I re-read my original doc's notes this morning--once again I know why I fired him. Bob , Granger, Indiana > > Welcome Back, Bob. Great news except for the doc's tardiness. Guest guest
Hey Bob, You fired your onc for more than one reason. YOU can handle both CML and kidney cancer but apparently your onc can't! Have a terrific day, Re: [ ] I'm Back Dear , Didn't miss my teachin' responsibilities. Gonna meet the kids on Momday afternoon.
