Having surgery while taking Gleevec

I was diagnosed in January and have been on Gleevec since February. Due to a

chronic ear problem, I have to have surgery on my ear. My Oncologist is

concerned because of my low platelet count (low 70s) and low WBC (about 2400)

and neutrophil counts (low 1200s).

She said that I might have to go off the Gleevec for a while to boost my

counts back up.

Has anyone had to deal with this ? I am scared and depressed and would love

to hear some feedback and support.
