Guest guest
I wanted to just throw out my 2 cents. I was approved right away and I truly believe that it was because of my weekly involvement with the case worker that was making the decision. Call and ask who is in charge of your file. Don't just me a name on their desk. Be a person with these life altering symptoms and disease process that makes it difficult to lead a normal life. I talked to her weekly, I let her know when I had a doctors appointment and let her know what the doctor said. I kept a copy of my labs from that appointment and faxed it straight to her. That way she also knew to call the doctor's office and get a copy of the note from that day. Make sure your doctors know that you are doing this so they can provide the needed paperwork in a timely fashion otherwise it will definitely hold things up. Be an advocate for yourself. Be involved. You don't need to waste money on an attorney, you can do all this yourselves if you want. Just communicate with the person. Make sure you mention all the effects that prevent you from maintaining a job. I am not an advocate of people abusing the system but for those of us you have needed it, it is worth fighting for it. Best of luck.
