Guest guest
, CMT is a * genetically inherited * disorder. Meaning it is passed through your own family lineage. It can't be " caught " from another. It is NOT an * immune * disorder, such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus or MS. So, whoever told you that the " donee " would " develop CMT " from your bone marrow donation is not correct. Gretchen
Guest guest
, I found this answer for you! Hope this helps! L. Wichita, KS Just as the kinds of CMT that we understand cannot be cured with a bone marrow transplant, they cannot be caused by a bone marrow transplant either. I would be glad to discuss this issue with the health care professional who apparently does not understand this concept.
