Guest guest
I am going to talk to him more in detail about it on my next visit in 2 weeks. They have all blown it off as not really a big deal but I too, worry about how bad it will get and how fast..... i was told the medication doesn't cross the blood brain barrier. So, I don't know what the cause is or what to expect. The whole thing is sort of scary. I have a supportive family as we laugh off it as " chemo brain " but it is very disconcerting to me. Guest guest
As I read this talk of memory issues, I am struck by the fact that I am sure I have failed a somewhat since starting Gleevec four years ago. for me, it is as if someone has erased bit and pieces of information off a chalkboard and I just have these glitches and holes and can't recall certain things -- as in not even a slight memory of it. Very aggravating and upsetting when it happens..... in Minn Re: [ ] does anyone work on Disability? Memory problems...... Guest guest
, could you bring me up-to-speed about what you have been told about " chemo brain " ? I will celebrate my 8th Anniversary of Dx on Feb. 12th. Have been a pt at MD Cancer Center since Mar. 15 of the same year and suffer from what they call " chemo brain " as well. Look forward to hearing what you have been told. Re: [ ] does anyone work on Disability? Memory problems...... I am going to talk to him more in detail about it on my next visit in 2 weeks. Guest guest
- Not much. Everyone just shrugs it off as chemo brain. Not sure where the started or what exactly it means/does. I do know, I am very forgetful and I take chemo pills daily. That can't be good as far as crossing into your brain, etc. I am one that does believe that it crosses over into the blood/brain barrier. I am not a chemist or doctor though, that is just my opinion. I was just putting the question out there as I know people have brought it up before but was wondering how bad people feel they are affected by it and what they were told as well. I guess we dont have a lot of answers on that subject yet. If anyone has input about the disability- please chime in as well. I am curious. Thanks Jen **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
I am really glad this came back up. I have been so forgetful the last few months. It really is bothering me, get this, I forgot this subject had come up before! haha! I have printed a few of these out to talk over with my wife (so, I do not forget to!) and hit the store for some magnesium! Cheers, Chris **************Start the year off right.
