This debate has been ongoing among CML patients and now there has been a

clinical trial that confirms what the CML experts have been saying all

along. It is not a good idea to take Gleevec breaks on a regular basis.

" The absence of a clear benefit means that this approach cannot be

recommended as an alternative to standard IM dosing, however may be

applicable to a selected group of patients who cannot tolerate standard

daily dosing. "
