When I was having trouble getting medicine some years ago, my doctor was able to

supply me with samples to get me through my poor time---which lasted quite a

while.  Other than that, I'm not sure.  I hear you can contact the drug

companies, and if they deem you poor enough, they will help out.  I've never

tried it myself.  Other than that, is there a free clinic you can go to?

Sometimes they also supply the meds.  Don't you have any prescription

coverage on disability?  That's scary for me to think about.

Take Care.  I don't know if I was any help,  I hope so.  I know how difficult

it is to be without proper medicine--especially psychiatric meds.

[ ] Medicine or food?

Hi Everyone,

I didn't believe it would ever happen to me but it has. I am having to choose

between medicine and food. When I left California for the Heat Shock protein

vaccine trial since Gleeve wasn't working for me I was already on disability.

That was because a colleageu was so aggressive and mean that I had to leave my

job as Director of Development of a Hospice Foundation. Most of you know that

dsability pays about $900 a month. Lately, while living unhappily in Northern

Virginia and spending all day everyday sending out resumes I started going to a

Medicare psychiatrist for medication monitoring. As time wore on she kept

adding medicine and now I can't afford anything but generic clonopin. I'm

supposed to also be taking lithium and a new drug. Can't be done. I spend all

my time looking for work--half a day sending out resumes for career positions

that I need in order to build any kind of retirement and the other half looking

for " little " jobs. Today that was a job at Blockbuster video store.

I'm hoping that a cousin who has helped me in the past will return to his home

in Dallas from wherever he is on the globe. If you have any ideas, please let

me know. Can you stilll go to Canada for cheaper drugs and can you do that for

more than one round of drugs? Any information would be helpful.

The good news is that I met with a career counselor at Northern University

Community College. He was very savvy about my situation and also the closed

society of Virginia. Since I want to work in non-profit development, media

relations and grant writinghe said colleges and universities are always looking

for people like me so I'll begin that campaign tomorrow.

I know that somehow I'll make it throgh this and get a job but right now the

stress level is way beyond the safety factor.

Peace,

L

I am so sorry that on top of everything else you have

to struggle to get the medicine you need. I wonder

if ther are any clinical trials for the new drug you

need?

Keep your head up.

Sending you lots of love and positive energy that a

wonderful job will come your way.
