Guest guest
Sorry I am weighing in on this late. Yes, it is very important to have consistency in labs. My local oncologist gave me the same excuse, too cost prohibitive and too many things to do to insure the sample is handled right. However, I have found that it is worth it to have a base line from the same lab. Each lab is different, protocols are different and the way the test results vary from lab to lab. It is much better to have consistency in lab work. Matt ville, FL DX January 2005 Gleevec March 2005 Tasigna November 2008 In a message dated 1/19/2008 8:02:04 P.M. Guest guest
Hi We send my son's blood to OHSU in Oregon every quarter for pcr testing there - the BCBS insurance covers all costs. OHSU ships the kit to us, he goes to the doctors lab where they draw the blood and its sent back overnight to OHSU - even the shipping is covered. It is important to have the tests done at the same lab and create a trend from the same place...
