Re " enemas, Coloma's & Colonics Note to of

Dewberry Hill. Due to an accident that

happened 60 or so years ago, I have had to enemas and then colonics on a

regular basis. I started out using regular Fountain syringes, then went

to using the JBL Cascade sit on enema bag. I wore out 2 of these over

the years. The last one I bought back in 1950 cast $35.00 which was a

lot of money in those days for an enema bag. I had my first series

of colonics when I was in the service. Following 6 weeks of Basic

Training when I was unable to do enemas. my bowels were really impacted.

So over the years I have used a variety of enema bags, colomea boards,

and home colonic units. I now have a standard professional home colonic

unit set up in my bathroom so that I can do weekly colonics. Our

summer home, which is an RV type trailer I use a coloma board for tor

weekly clean out. And have a professional colonic done when needed.

We have just returned from an extended tour of the eastern part of the

U.S. We were gone 16 weeks so I had a great opportunity to compare

various colon therapy procedures and equipment. If I remember right 7

of the colonics was done using either the Jimmy (2) or the Libbe

(5) Therapy equipment. By far the most comfortable colonic unit I

have ever used has to be the Libbe It is almost lie a reclining chair.

I found the Jimmy to be very old fashioned looking and not any more

comfortable than my home coloma board. Of these seven open or gravity

type colonic unit the therapist only came in, turned on the equipment,

set the timer and all but one left the room to come back about every 10

minutes or so to see if all was OK. The one that stayed sat in a rocker

and knitted. And we had an interesting conversation about colon

problems. As far as I am concerned other than more comfortable, the

open units were no better or worse than my own coloma Board. And the

clean out was about the same. The

other 9 colonics were given on closed system using a speculum which is

connected to the water supply and discharge is through the drain hose

with the colon therapist inserting the speculum, controlling the

pressure and temperature. All of the therapist stayed at my side

through out the treatment, massaging my colon to help move the water in,

and to help move the water and colon contents out. This is also a

very comfortable procedure. For me, the most uncomfortable part of the

entire colonic is the insertion of the speculum. Even when I insert it

into my own rectum I hate it. Actually it is not all that uncomfortable

on insertion and once in place is totally comfortable. I guess with me

it is a phobia of anyone messing around with my anus, including me.

In conclusion, I would recommend that anyone planning on doing colonics

check with the therapist to find out what type of equipment they use,

and if at all possible go with the closed system. The cost is usually

($50.00 to $60.00) the same, as a matter of fact I had to pay $65.00 for

a colonic using the Jimmy which was the least comfortable unit

used.

There are probably 4 or 5 different manufacturers of Closed Colonic

machines and equipment. They are all very similar n performance and all

meet USDA Standards for Colon Therapy equipment. The biggest variable is

the Therapist and I found all of the ones that I had contact with to be

very professional. I did try and make sure that the therapist were IACT

Trained and Certified. I hope that this

might help answer questions for some of the readers, and I will be happy

to exchange information with anyone. Contact me at my above E-mail

address or write to this site.

I know this is to Wanda, but it looks to me as if she just might not

understand the difference between chat, when you don't want someone to think

your left and sending a message to the group. That's what it looks like to

me.

Stick with the diet and don't worry about your spelling. Don't try to drop

all the avoids at once, so your body will adjust easier. Dr. D'Adamo made

this suggestion himself. Do not hesitate to ask if you have a question.

There are some answers to questions when you have the time at

www.dadamo.com. In the right hand top column there are articles from Heidi,

Dr Bron, and Dr.D'Adamo. Dr D'adamo no longer takes questions, but Heidi

does. There is a lot of information in the archives of each of those. If you

have a question, or don't understand something, that's what we who have been

here a while are here for. Please don't let the others put you off.

Love and peace,

Give smaller doses three to four times day and build up to the Magnesium

level desired over time as the body gets used to it.

Your four year old is experiencing loose stools, not diarrhea.

MAGNESIUM is an incredibly important nutrient and should be in proportion

to Calcium from all sources. Most researchers say 2 parts Calcium to 1 part

Magnesium. Some researchers say the ratio should be more like 1 to 1.

Magnesium does require some getting used to by the body, hence, start with

small doses several times daily and work up.

Many AEDs depelete Magnesium, also.

When my son seizes, I give him Magnesium and B complex immediately.

I have diaagnoses of FMS and CFIDS and my body needs at least 1200 mg

Magnesium daily to minimize muscle spasms severe enough to pull my vertebrae out

of alignment.

Thank you MJH. Does it matter if it's served with or without food?

What is the difference between cocunut oil, like Fractionated

Coconut, or any other? I have organic and was wanting to make an

oil but it calls for Fractionated Coconut and I am not sure if I

can us what I have.

Fractionated coconut oil is different from 76 degree coconut oil which

has a melting point of 76 degrees. Fractionated is liquid and typically

added to lotions - absorbs wonderfully into the skin. HTH :)
