Glad you asked! I registered at work, where they brought in an agency to

test and register us. The first step is a simple blood test. If you work

for a large corporation, you should contact Human Resources and ask them to

sponsor a recruitement drive. If you don't work for a large corporation

their are local recruitment centers. My brother used one on Long Island.

Because our kids have a higher chance of getting leukemia, I think we all

should register. The more folks we can encourage to register now, increases

the possibility of finding a donor if ever we or someone we love ever needs

one.

Here is the address for the National Marrow Donor Program on how to

get a donor kit:

It costs $52. Sometimes local blood centers will have a free donor day.

I hope this helps. If you are having it done to find a match, your

insurance may cover it through your local doctor or clinic.
