Guest guest
I'm getting very nervous about a stomach flu (I think that's what it is) that has made it impossible to keep Gleevec down for a few days now. I've been too sick to get up or move around until today. Naturally, with CML everything is -- or at least threatens -- to be more complicated. The anti-nausea drug my doc gave me comes right up along with everything else! Anyone ever had this problem? What do you do about it? Thanks so much. in San Francisco _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live Hotmail and Microsoft Office Outlook – together at last. Guest guest
Hi , When I started gleevec my hemato said that I could take the pills in two meals (example 200mg at lunch, 200mg at dinner) when I had a huge spleen and was unable to eat a lot at once. Before I came to work in the US, I used to travel quite a bit in Asia and Africa and got sometime big stomach bugs, but I always was able to keep down well cooked plain rice with little salt and no seasoning, adding bits of meat when it starts to get better. But if it doesn't get better and you start loosing weight I think you should talk with your dr. I wish you a speedy recovery. Marcos. Guest guest
Hi Sorry to hear you are so sick. I had a similar flue last year in October, was so sick couldn't eat anything to take the Gleevac with so I was without it for two days. I did get some anti daihorea pills from my GP but he seemed uncertain if it was safe with Gleevac so I didn't take it. Ate dry water crackers, drank heaps of water and basically weathered it out. As soon as I was well enough I went and got a blood test done and there wasn't any problem with my levels. However everyone is different so maybe if you can ring your specialist you'd be wise. I really sympathies cos it was a horrible bug and you feel so absolutely rotten and weak. Take care of yourself and I hope this helps a wee bit.
