IS THERE ANY CHANCE THAT YOU CAN CHANGE DOCTORS IN ORDER TO GET A SECOND OPINION CONCERNING YOUR INJURY? I ALSO HAVE A NECK INJURY AS A RESULT OF AN AUTO ACCIDENT. I HAVE A RUPTURED DISK IN MY NECK AT THE C5 LEVEL. LIKE YOU I ALSO CAN NOT LIFT MUCH WEIGHT AS A RESULT OF MY NECK INJURY. I HURT ALL THE TIME FROM THE PRESSURE ON THE NERVES IN MY NECK,SO I CAN RELATE TO THE PAIN FROM THIS TYPE OF INJURY. I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT I WILL NEED TO HAVE A FUSION TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM IN MY NECK. I ALSO HAVE A BULGING DISK IN MY BACK THAT CAUSES ME A LOT OF PAIN AS WELL. THIS IS A GOOD PLACE TO COME AND SHARE WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH AS YOU DEAL WITH YOUR NECK INJURY. IT IS ALSO A GOOD PLACE TO COME AND JUST LET OFF SOME STEAM FROM ALL THE FRUSTRATIONS OF A NECK INJURY.{LIKE DEALING WITH DOCTORS THAT DO NOT WANT TO HELP YOU} I WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO COME BACK HERE AND LET US KNOW HOW THINGS ARE GOING WITH YOU. PERHAPS HE WILL BE ABLE TO GET YOU THE HELP THAT YOU NEED TO GET MUCH NEEDED PAIN RELIEF. I HOPE THAT YOU WILL GET NOTHING BUT GOOD RESULTS FROM THE SHOTS THAT YOU ARE GOING TO GET.HANG THERE AND LET US HEAR HOW THINGS TURN OUT WIT THE INJECTIONS. Guest guest Posted January 31, 2008 Report Share Posted January 31, 2008 Hello Friends I'm really not trying to compete with the " queen of the side effects " but I still have the neck rash( you guys said cosmetic so I'm not worried).I have a really stiff neck for about two months now and last night I woke up with a sore throat. Most of the time I feel good but today really run down. We'll see what the lab results are. This was weird also- the blood draw really hurt today. It is the same guy- maybe he was off his game. It's weird since starting gleevec I haven't had a cold. Lots of aches and pain but no colds. Probably the virus can't survive the chemo.I feel fortunate as I am still working and training for the walking marathons. But today I am soooo tired. I want to tell all of you how much it has meant to me to receive advice and support from all of you. Thank you!!! My first year anniversary for dx is coming up in March- so what's the protocol- should I get a cake?
