Guest guest
Hi K, Well being an Aussie, I can say I have never seen a Santa with a pipe yet, so that is as we Aussies say is a " furphy " . However in regards to " HO HO HO " it was stopped as kids were scared by it.....what a load of rubbish. BUT! There has been a revolution and Santa's combined have refused to work unless allowed to " HO HO HO " , so it is still with us. Talk about stupid political correctness over here, kindergartens aren't allowed to this and that and to celebrate our mainly anglo saxon heritage as it offends other religions. But celebrating Christmas and easter in kinders in starting to make a comeback and most importantly as we are multicultural, celebrating other religious holidays etc as should be. Hey group, on the Fox News Channel tonight there was a bit about Santa. The Surgeon General, Rear Admiral Gaison said that Santa was a bad influence on children. One Santa weighing in at 256 with a round belly was obsese a ban Santa's over 160 pounds. I also heard that in Australia the pipe was banned as an influence to smoking marijuana and other drugs and Santa's cannot say 'ho, ho, ho " because it is offensive to women; they have to say 'ha, ha, ha'. Did anyone else hear it, I was in another room and I don't think I heard it correctly. " K " " I AIN'T FINISHED YET " !!!
Guest guest
You know, now that I think of it, it wouldn't surprise me that " HO HO HO " would scare some kids. I've seen kids burst out bawling with terror at the sight of clowns. And puppets! Then there's always parents that drag their kids to see Santa and demand that they sit in the lap of some strange man and confide in him, and balk when the kids don't happily oblige. Guest guest
My kids are scared of Santa- My older girl tried to talk me out of taking her younger sister to see Santa- she said " Mom, a fat man in tight red velvet is not appealing " ...pre-teens are very insightful! > > You know, now that I think of it, it wouldn't surprise me that " HO > HO HO " would scare some kids. Guest guest
I personally think the idea of changing Santa is RIDICULOUS!! Doesn't someone have anything better to do with their time? If your child isn't good with the idea, the stranger, or whatever... you just don't take that child to see Santa. I mean... are you going to ban Mickey Mouse from Disney World because a child screams seeing a GIGANTIC mouse walking toward them? <<Big Grin>> Clowns are scary!
