Chi:

Jack Nicholson had a popular look with the ladies, so

that is not necessarily a bad thing.

Hi ,

Yes it is oral chemo- I've been told that by my GP and

the pharmacy. Hang in there with the Gleevec the

symptoms get better for most of us. My eyes were so

swollen my eyebrows looked like Jack Nicholson's -now

they are thinning but my eyes are almost normal. Keep

in touch with your doc regarding yours symptoms

because for a small group of people they can't

tolerate the medicine.

Sending you positive thoughts.

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick question. I've had some confusing terminology thrown my way. is

Gleevec

considered chemotherapy?

Also, today's blood count showed a 20 drop in wbc. I've been on Gleevec 1 week,

so I'm

pretty pleased. Still feeling pretty sick though from Gleevec.

Take Care,

H.

That a question I got several time by friends or family. The answer is a

yes. Chemotherapy is defined in most dictionaries as a medication use to

kill or control cancer cells, in opposition to radiotherapy and

immunotherapy. Although it is quite different than the chemotherapy of most

other cancer (smarter, long term medication, better tolerated). I don't

think I would be diving most week-ends if I was on the old chemotherapy.
