This is my four year anniversary of being diagnosed. It's interesting how easily I remember the date. With this diagnosis everything changed. And yet, today I am healthy and active. I have been blessed to be at PCR since June of 2005 and I have very few side effects from the 600 mgs. of Gleevec (down from 800 mgs.) I take daily. I also have anemia problems and take 40,000 units of ProCrit to keep my counts in an acceptable range. I want to thank all of you for your courage, your support, your knowledge, and your willingness to share the good, the bad, and the ugly. Without you I would feel so alone.
