Hi everyone - hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year. We have

been holidaying with our family which was really nice - for the snow bound

ones think of 95+ days and swimming in the river....simply devine.

Congratulations to on his great result I bet that is such a

relief after all he has been through.

With regards to memory loss, I have only been on Glivec for a short time,

however I found that previous to diagnosis my memory was actually worse! I

was beginning to worry that I was heading for Alzhiemer's as I have always

had a photographic memory and it was going downhill fast and couldn't

remember stuff! I have always been someone who could watch the TV, read a

book and or talk to someone else with no problems......but then over the

past 12 months realized I was getting to the stage where I couldn't do this

without concentration and couldn't remember people's names etc even after

mentally going through the alphabet etc.

Perhaps it has something to do with the white cells clogging up our system

initially? Especially when you consider the different ways some people have

presented to the ER with health related problems only to be diagnosed with

CML. As I take magnesium religiously to prevent cramps I haven't noticed any

changes, my main problem initially being constant aches and pains in the

joints ( I was thinking I would need a new knee joint!) which disappeared 2

weeks after commencing Glivec.
