Guest guest
Donna- I just was catching up on some of the latest blogs and noticed this entry from you. I have to say, I really agree with everything Tracey stated. I think you have to take into consideration that you are only 48 and that you do have 7 noted mutations. It is great that you are responding to treatment thus far and we all hope that continues. However, you really should consider a bone marrow biopsy/aspirate before your 1 year anniversary date. I had them every 6 months in the beginning and I responded quickly, with no abnormal's such as mutations, etc. I don't like getting them but I LOVE the reassurance it gives me to know there is nothing else going on in there that I or the MD is not aware of. I think of it as being proactive in catching something early and taking care of it quickly. If I was starting to develop blast cells, lets say, I would want to know that as soon as possible. I want the best outcomes with the quickest response time. I wish you the best and hope that you and your MD can come to a conclusion that is in the best interests of your health with CML. You are definitely in good hands with a top CML doctor. Use his expertise. Guest guest
Donna- One more thing. I have had numerous BMB's now and if pain is a concern for not having them, I wanted to say that you can have conscious sedation with them. They start an IV and give you medication like Valium or Versed and you literally remember nothing. It is great. I take a nap and don't remember a thing but my mother, sister, and hubby all say that I answer questions and moan alittle now and then but of course, this is all a blur to me. Sometimes I don't even remember getting home. Also it makes for a more comfortable next couple hours and such.... I wasn't sure if that was a concern but its definitely an option to look into. I won't have one without it. They are great!!! Just wanted to throw that out-- Jen **************Ideas to please picky eaters. Watch video on AOL Living.
