Guest guest Posted January 16, 2008 Report Share Posted January 16, 2008 i was 42 yrs old when dxd w/ cml advanced stage 10/03 started on gleevec 400mg . reached ccr in 06/04. started and stopped several times due to side effects. Took a vacation from it permanently on june 8, 2007, my choice. never looked back. i had all side effects throughout the years on gleevec, my gi tract to bowel are so damaged there is no amount of medicine to reverse the damage. my blood pressure at one point was at 220/110. i never had blood pressure problems until i was put on gleevec. i am now on 70 mg of sprycel twice daily, hoping to get on the 100mg soon. i started sprycel in july 07. i have had some degree of headache since. my extremities have had this tingling feeling with weakness. i am on diovan hct to control bp and swelling. sometimes have to take lasik when real bad. after five years can i be call a cancer survivor? ann grimm cml patient Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
