Guest guest Posted January 20, 2008 Report Share Posted January 20, 2008 I seem to get colds like I usually have in the past, but for some reason they tend to go into bronchitis and require antibiotics. If you do have a cold with a productive cough, meaning you cough up colored mucus, you need to call your doctor. I don't think we have the best immune system to fight the infection without the antibiotics. At least the last couple of times I've been sick I've been put on antibiotics and prednisone because of bronchitis. Also, make sure if you are not contacting your onc that you tell your doctor that you are on Gleevec because there are several antibiotics you are not suppose to use because of the interaction.
