Hi Ed,

Each hematologist has their own routine. Ask him what his philosophy is in

treating CML and how many CML patients he is currently treating.

For the first month on medication you will want to have a WBC done weekly.

You will also want to have a bone marrow biopsy done. This will be the

expensive test.

Once you are stabilized, you will only need to visit him every 3 months.

First of all, thanks Zavie for your advice. I have a new question. I'm just

getting ready to see the hematologist so I would like to know what is the

basic testing for a newly diagnosed CML?

My diagnostic tests were done in Mexico but I will probably have to redo in

the US. What is necessary and what is not? I am a cash patient thus my

concern.
