The official recommendation, according to this abstract, is that a

patient should have a cytogenetic analysis (a BMB/BMA) every 6 months

until CCR is achieved, then every 12 months after that. PCR's should

be done every 3 months and if a patient is not responding optimally,

mutational analysis should be done.

This abstract shows that many patients are not being followed according

to these recommended guidelines.
