Guest guest
Hi Giles, I googled the net looking for clinical trials on chelation. I found several and all of them said that there was no improvement when compared to a placebo. http://www.hhs.gov/asl/testify/t990310a.html http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/422905 A couple of other sites that make interesting reading are: http://www.gordonresearch.com/articles_oral_chelation/oral_chelation_hoax_pr otector_rowen.html http://www.chelationtherapyonline.com/articles/p55.htm Zavie Zavie (age 69) 67 Shoreham Avenue Ottawa, Canada, K2G 3X3 dxd AUG/99 INF OCT/99 to FEB/00, CHF No meds FEB/00 to JAN/01 Gleevec since MAR/27/01 (400 mg) CCR SEP/01. #102 in Zero Club 2.8 log reduction Sep/05 3.0 log reduction Jan/06 2.9 log reduction Feb/07 3.2 log reduction Jun/07 3.6 log reduction Sep/07 e-mail: zmiller@... It's very important for me. I think also that the chelation therapy with the wrong dosage can really damage the kidney. However, Dr Wittel said to me that he had treated patients with chelation ( very very cautiously) who had creatinins up to 350. that one came back to below 200 and did not have to go for dialysis. He also treated a man aged 75 who was on Gleevec and tolerated very well the chelation therapy. Dr Wittel tell me the good experience but I am sure that he had bad experience too. I want to know the persons who had bad experience with the chelation therapy (ex; damage to the kidney or interaction with Gleevec). I a sure that there are too some people who had good experience. I will check this out with cardiologist, hematologist and nephrologist. Before 2003, I have a good health. Since I took VIOXX, I discovered hypertension and high creatinine rate. Few month later, I had a atrial fibrillation and after CML. I appreciated very much your intervention. Gilles Gilles: I cannot speak to the above subject from personal experience. I always thought chelation was a lifesaver. However, a friend of ours who was put on chelation for heart problems and has been on it for several years, suddenly finds himself on 3 times a week dialysis. I could not find out the reason, other than that some of the medications he had to take probably caused it. Nevertheless, after hearing this, I would strongly advise you to check this out in much detail with all the doctors you work with, as it has really caused me to get concerned.
