Guest guest
Hi Rita, I am glad that you achieved PCRU with Sprycell. I hope that you have less side effect than with Gleevec. I hope to see you in Montreal, may be at the next CML meeting at the Royal Hospital. Take care, Your friend of Montreal, Gilles P.S. La vie est belle! Il faut en profiter au maximum! Rita Levig <levig@...> a écrit : Good morning, Gilles The Royal Hospital in Montreal is part of the North American wide project to standardize PCR testing. As such the Royal Vic PCR testing meets the requirements of certification along with some other key centers in Canada. Chelation therapy is a procedure that removes heavy metals from your system. I do not personally know anyone that has undergone this while on Gleevec therapy. Gilles, you and I share the same Doctor who is considered to be among the top CML experts in Canada. No doubt you feel as reassured about this as I do. Aussi, vous pouvez m’écrire personnellement ou m’appelez. J’ai toujours mon PCRU sur 20 de Sprycell 2 fois par jour. Hope to see you soon, Love, Rita _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Zavie miller Sent: Sunday, November 11, 2007 11:30 AM Cc: Gilles Cousineau Subject: RE: [ ] Gleevec and chelation therapy Hi Giles, Before I respond to some of your questions, let me welcome you to the Zero Club. O!!! YIPPEEE!!! Number 1129 in the Zero Club Zavie Giles, I don't think your PCR is unstable. My experience with PCR testing at the Royal Vic is that their PCR testing is unstable. You might want to have the testing done at a different lab. When the Vic was saying I was at PCRU, all the other labs were saying that I was at a 3 log reduction. I would investigate more before starting the Chalation therapy. I discuss with my CML doctor. He knows this therapy but he doesn't recommand it. I am interested in this therapy because I have hypertension, atrial fibrillation and kidney insufficiency. Now I take Gleevec (400mg), Coumadin + Monocor + Rythmol- propefanone (for the heart). My creatinine rate is around 130 for a maximum normal range of 110. My question is that: Is it possible that the chelation therapy can damage more the kidney? Is it possible that the the chelation therapy can interact with Gleevec (400mg)? Actually, my PCR results are instable. The tests were executed at the Royal Victotia hospital in Montreal(Canada). I think that the reason is because I take too much medication. I took the same quantity od medication and I didn't miss a pill. The chelation therapy may reduce the quantity of medication for the heart. I didn't know that there is a intravenous method. I want to know if there is a person taking Gleevec with the Chelation therapy.
