Guest guest
Dear Group, When you have pleural effusions and they are not successful in getting the fluid out with Lasix, then there is a procedure known as Thoracentesis. Read the link posted here. Also one on pleural effusions. http://www.pulmonologychannel.com/pleuraleffusion/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thoracentesis You can sometimes get pneumonia, which I did. I never had pneumonia in my life, but had it on Sprycel. I'm not knocking it, it is wonderful drug for a lot of people, but if the effusions cannot be controlled, go to something else. Not all doctors are as up to date on these drugs as we are, because there is not much published on it. Sometimes articles can be found in " BLOOD " , but not all doctors subscribe to a specialty disease if they are general oncologists. You could sit in the office every day for a week and never meet anyone with CML. We have to stay on our toes and ask yourself, " Who's looking out for me? " Look through your eyes unobstructed by fear, but gladness, Lottie
