Guest guest Posted April 9, 2005 Report Share Posted April 9, 2005 IIT scholar participates in World Congress on Family Law and Rights of Children Saturday, April 9, 2005 (New Delhi): A research scholar from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, has become the first Indian and the youngest participant in the World Congress on Family Law and Rights of Children. Twenty-six-year-old Deelip D Mhaske from the Department of Human and Social Sciences presented a paper on human rights of the HIV-positive children in India. The fourth World Congress, held in Cape Town during March 20-23, 2005, deliberated upon the Convention on Child Rights, that has already been signed by some countries. The first such event was held in Sydney (Australia) in 1993, the second in San Francsico (US) in 1997 and the third in Bath (England) in 2001.
