Subject: [ ] A Miracle Cure?

Dear All,

The postings have been really fitting with something I have going on

right now, I wanted to let you all in on it.

A couple of weeks ago my Daughter handed me the telephone number of a

Lady she said had CML (she had been given the number by an associate of

hers who knew I had CML). I felt a bit silly calling but did anyway

and got an answering machine at a pilates studio, I left a brief

message saying who I was. A week later I got a call back from this

Lady called Laurie, she said that she had been diagnosed 2 years ago

with CML well she said she thinks it was CML (red flag...me thinks " how

could you not be sure " but she said didn't like to put labels on

things) well apparently she has cured herself through the power of mind

over body (yes I am extremely skeptic too, don't worry I am not a

wally!) well I have to say I am intrigued by this and have planned to

meet her tomorrow (in a public place lol) so I will let you all know

her story when I know more.....

Donna xx

My gut says...what the... Mind over matter is well good and all as

long as it's not replacing some form of treatment. I would say that

it is hoopla unless she was on the evening news because that's where

I would be if I had found something as profound. I remember reading

some books about people's experience with lymphoma (in remission from

lymphoma) and one lady mentioning that after her chemo etc she

meditated and excercised and " willed " away any residual disease. Now

maybe it could be argued that a strong mind can influence how your

body responds to disease, perhaps stimulating the immune system to

act etc; but I don't think that it is the only factor in curing any

disease... THAT would make us some super beings and we certainly

would not have any need for medical science and perhaps have triple

the life span and such. I'm thinking...not...

-OK I know you all have just been waiting with baited breath wanting

to know about the miracle cure (drum roll please).......

The Lady I met, Sophie (persons names have been altered for their own

protection lol) in fact had Hodgkins Lymphoma. She was diagnosed 2

years ago and the Doc told her she had 2 options, chemo or " go away

and see what happens " (dang I wasn't given a choice just took the

chemo). To cut a long long story way short...she went to a Dr. of

Herbology and was given some herbs to take, which she did, practiced

Raiki and pilates and lived her life " only for her " and ta da 2 years

later she is cancer free. Doesn't sound like it will work for me but

I had to admire her wonderful positive outlook and if a little of

that rubbed off on to me it was well worth the meeting!!!
