Guest guest
Hi Donna, I was dx'd with a WBC of 305,000 and I had a huge spleen as well. The spleen went down into my pelvis and across the midline. crazy crazy! I had a couple of transfusions as well. Lots of packed red cells for me! I felt like a million bucks after that! It has been almost 4 years since I was diagnosed, and although the spleen shrunk down to normal size shortly after starting Gleevec, I still have spleen pain. My pain would start on the left front and radiate around to my back I have no explaination for it. I've even had cat scans of my torso area just to make sure nothing weird was going on.. but still I get spleen area cramping every now and then. I think it's just because the spleen has to have been " damaged " of some sort to have grown so large. I have just learned to live with it. Take good care. Sincerely, Lynn Dx'd 12/03 PCRU > > Hi, > I started this whole CML journey back in May when I was admitted to ER > in a bit of a state. Guest guest
Same thing as Donna, light pain and feeling like a golf ball is stuck under my ribs. Nothing too bad and not too often. Just the scare the first times. Each time it checked out ok. It may be also damage to things around the spleen when it was big, it did hurt a lot at the time. It happens sometime after I work out or I come back from the climbing wall, so it may be muscular. I had so far zero explanation from the dr. Marcos. Guest guest
Coincidentally, I am getting an echography next Friday for that same reason. It has gone to its regular size but a stange feeling remains (seems to be accuented by stress in my case). It was 17cm when diagnosed.
