Guest guest
Lynn- I just wanted to add a comment to your post about feeling normal off Gleevec. I had to laugh as that is exactly what my hubby and 3 children told me. Even my neighbors were like, What are you taking???? I said " nothing and it feels great! " . I was cleaning out the cars, sweeping the front of the house, etc. I was NEVER able to any of that while on Gleevec. I stopped Gleevec for 3 weeks while I was doing my stem cell collection. I felt like before I was diagnosed. Living again! After my collection is when they decided to switch my to Spyrcel and I have felt SO good on it. I am a little more fatigued, foggy and some GI issues now and then, then when I was on nothing for those 3 weeks, but its a small price to pay to be alive and healthy. I know there is not a drug available with no side effects so I am happy that I can at least " live " and enjoy things again while on Spyrcel. I hope that I don't lose effectiveness with this as I don't want to have to go back to Gleevec. The drugs will keep getting better and better as long as they keep up the research. I just wanted to let you know what my families response was as it seems like yours had the same. Thought it was funny. Best wishes- Hugs and hope CML 5/13/05 Spyrcel 100mg Wife and mother of 3 (12,8,6) ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
