You are not the only one at all. I suffered terrible with this on Gleevec.

It is much more tolerable now that I am on Sprycel. While on Gleevec I

would have 8-10 bouts per day including throughout the night. Lets put it this

way, it wasn't always pretty!!! I also dehydrated frequently because of this

and ended up having home IV's 2 times weekly. I ended up in the ER or

hospitalized about once every 6 weeks.

CML 5/13/05

Gleevec 800mg until 8/07

Spyrcel 100mg since 9/07

Absolutely not! My husband, Robb, was diagnosed on Christmas Eve

2006 and has been on Gleevec since February 2007. Over the rest of

2007 his dosage was increased and he has been on 800 mg daily since

July. This is really hard on his stomach on a daily basis. He takes

immodium every single day. The good news is, this is really the only

side effect he has to deal with. We are just thankful that he is in

remission and living a normal life. I hope it makes you feel better

knowing that you are not alone.

Good luck to you!

Hi ,

No, you're not the only one. It's from the Gleevec. If you're taking

Magnesium, that'll make it even worse. There was a time that I was

buying Imodium from Costco in bulk (I think there was 78 in the pack).

I can only imagine what the cashier thought! It's better now but I

still need to use it occasionally.
